About this role
Weaviate’s community is growing fast, and we need an experienced Technical Support Specialist with a passion for working with open-source communities, to help nurture and support our amazing community.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical support to our growing community of Weaviate users and developers, as well as contributing to the overall success of our Developer Relations initiatives.
However, this role goes beyond answering technical questions, and it is a great opportunity for a creative person that is keen to share their knowledge (i.e. in online workshops); look for new tools and ways to scale how many people we can help in limited time; be an active member of the community; identify gaps and create learning materials; advocate on behalf of the community; and integrate with other like-minded communities in the ML, AI Native, and vector database spaces.
What you'll will do
- Support: Provide timely and accurate technical support to Weaviate users and developers (or point them in the right direction) through various channels, including Slack, GitHub issues, community forums, etc.
- Troubleshoot: and resolve technical issues related to Weaviate installation, configuration, usage, and integration.
- Support journey: Help us define, implement and optimize a community support flow, and find the best tools to do the job, to enable the community to thrive. But also look for ways to avoid repetitively answering the same questions and handling the same issues.
- Moderate: Become a voice for the community within Weaviate. Consolidate, clarify, and route product feedback to our Product and Engineering teams.
- Educate: Create and maintain technical documentation, including FAQs, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge base articles. But also run workshops or online live-coding sessions to show the capabilities of Weaviate.
- Content: Contribute to the development of educational content, such as tutorials, blog posts, and videos, to help users get the most out of Weaviate.
- Become an expert: Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in vector search technology, as well as trends and best practices in the open-source community.
What we are looking for
- You have 2+ years of experience working in a technical support role.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to a diverse audience.
- Experience working with open-source software and engaging with open-source communities.
- You have experience writing code in Python and/or JavaScript.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- You are excited about the new AI developments and want to be a part of it.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Bonus:
- Strong understanding of vector search technology and experience working with vector databases, preferably Weaviate.
- You have hands-on experience with machine learning and/or databases.
- Experience speaking at meetups and conferences.
- Experience with educational content – writing blogs, recording video tutorials, etc.
